Left parties to hold dharna tomorrow against nuclear deal
New Delhi, Sep 24 (UNI) The Left parties along with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Telegu Desam Party (TDP) and Janata Dal (Secular) will hold a joint protest dharna in Parliament tomorrow against non-convening of the House and the finalisation of the Indo-US nuke deal.
According to a Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) release issued here today, the dharna is to protest against the non-convening of Parliament at a time when the country was facing serious developments like the serial terrorist blasts, relentless price rise as well as the attacks against minorities. On the same day, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be meeting US President George Bush at Washington to seal the nuclear deal violating his own assurance to come back to Parliament before finalising it.
The dharna will also highlight this issue, the release added.
All the four Left parties namely the Communist Party of India (CPI), the CPI-M, the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) will take part in the dharna.
