Bank employees join nation-wide strike in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Sep 24 (UNI) Banking operations remained paralysed in Rajasthan today as employees of over 2000 branches of public sector banks in the state joined the 48-hour nation-wide bank strike along with rest of the country.

More than 35,000 bank officers and employees participated in the strike, which was being observed on a call from the United Forum of Bank Union at the national-level to press upon various demands, including the pay revision, pension as an additional option, an employee's spokesman said here.

The clearing of house operations were also suspended and cheques over Rs 800 crore remained uncleared, he added.
