Woman employee caught red-handed accepting bribe in J

Srinagar, Sep 23 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation (VO) today arrested a woman employee of General Provident Fund (GPF) office for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.

A VO spokesman said here today that a written complained was lodged by Swarna Devi, wife of one late Kuleep Manhas, alleging that the GPF of her husband was not being released by Shama Bakshi, Assistant Complier, GPF Office, Gangyal, Jammu.

She alleged that the official was demanding a bribe of Rs 5,000 for releasing the GPF of her husband.

He said similarly, a case was registered and a successful trap in the office complex of GPF office, Gangyal, was laid.

The accused official, was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting Rs 5,000 as bribe money from the complainant in her office.

The tainted money was recovered from her possession in the presence of independent witnesses.

The accused was arrested for further investigation, spokesman said.
