Rs 27.26 additional grant for Jammu water supply scheme sanctioned
Srinagar, Sep 23 (UNI) In order to overcome the drinking water problem in the winter capital, Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra has approved an immediate additional grant of Rs 27.25 crore for expeditious completion of Sitlee Water Supply Scheme (WSS) at Nagrota.
An official spokesman today said in view of the dire need for augmenting drinking water in the Jammu city, the Governor has approved the amount for the scheme, currently under execution.
He said Mr Vohra had inspected and reviewed the progress on the Unit-III of the 5.4 MGD Filtration Plant on July 16 and asked the Engineers to accelerate work on the Project for meeting the requirements in the city.
Taken up at a cost of Rs 61.72 crore, an amount of Rs 8 crore had been spent on the scheme till July.
