Rasulan Bi demands four-wheeler for self, govt job for grandsons

Lucknow, Sep 23 (UNI) Rasulan Bibi, widow of Martyr Abdul Hameed, today met President Pratibha Devisingh Patil and submitted a long list of demands, including a four-wheeler vehicle for her and special reservation in government jobs for her grandchildren.

The 95-year-old Rasulan Bibi met the President at the Rajbhawan here and even expressed her desire to watch the next Republic Day parade at the national capital.

Accompanied by her grandson Jamil Alam, Abdul Hamid's widow submitted a 13-point charter of demands before the President.

The President gave a patient hearing to the demands of the martyr's widow.

The demands include 20-bedded hospital at Dhamupur in Gazipur district, home village of the martyr, release of postal stamp on Abdul Hamid's name, special reservation in government jobs for her grand children, CGHS-VIP health card, declarance of Abdul Hameed's old home as national monument, Sports stadium at Dulahapur (Gazipur), government vehicle for travel, naming Dulahapur railway station after Abdul Hamid and stopage of Lichvi Express at Dulahapur station.

Yesterday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister had sanctioned Rs five Lakh for the repair and rennovation of the martyr's residence at Ghazipur.

On the directive of the Chief Minister, Commissioner of Varanasi had been told regarding the surgery of her eyes and she could arrange her eyes' operation by any good doctor of her choice.

The payment of the expenditure for this operation would be made directly by the CM's discretionary fund.

District administration of Ghazipur had already sanctioned Rs 10 lakh on the park named after martyr Abdul Hameed.

Ironically, the government had already allotted two gas agencies, a petrol pump to the Martyr's family, besides her four son's were serving as government employee in other states, while recently her two grandsons have been given jobs by railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, sources said.

Meanwhile, 14 delegation were scheduled to meet the President at the Rajbhawan today. These delegation includes, Lucknow University old Students association, Congress legislature party leader Pramod Tiwari and his daughter Aradhana Mishra and BSP leader Siraj Mehandi, besides congress leader Akhilesh Pratap Singh also met the president and demanded AIIMS like medical institute in Gorakhpur.

A delegation of the Islamic center of India and a Congress state committee also met the President.
