Maoists escape following cross fire in AP
Khammam, Sep 23 (UNI) A group of Maoist Dalam members managed to escape after a cross-fire with a special police party at Mulakocharam forest area in Khammam district today.
According to police, a special police party, during their routine combing operations, spotted a group of ten Dalam members. When the police asked them to surrender, they allegedly opened fire.
In retaliation, the police also opened fire. However, the Dalam members managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
No casualties were reported from both the sides. The identity of the Dalam members and their affiliation to a group could not be ascertained.
Combing operations in the area were intensified to nab them, police added.
