Flood waters submerge railway bridge
Bhubaneshwar, Sep 23: Train services to Puri remained cut off for the second consecutive day today as a railway bridge between Delang and Birpurusottampur railway stations continued to remain submerged in the flood water.
Railway sources said train services were disrupted after the flood water of river Bhargavi overflowed on railway bridge no 44 yesterday.
The East Coast Railway (ECoR), which had short terminated and cancelled many trains yesterday following overflowing of the railway bridge, today short terminated 8409 Howrah-Puri Srijaganath Express, 8303 Sambalpur-Puri Intercity Express, 2837 Howrah-Puri Express and 221 Angul-Puri passenger at Khurda road.
All the trains would leave from Khurda road to their respective destinations on their reverse journey, ECoR sources said.
