Ellen J Kullman appointed DuPont President

Hyderabad, Sep 23 (UNI) DuPont today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Ellen J Kullman as the President and a Director of the Company, with effect from October one.

Chairman and CEO Charles O Holliday Jr would serve as the Chairman of the Company until Kullman's expected succession as the Chairman, a release said here.

''Kullman will define DuPont's detailed execution plans for the year 2009 and make a solid advance towards achieving our accelerated 2010 growth goals,'' Holliday added.

Kullman was the 19th executive to lead the Company in DuPont's 206-year history and the first woman to become the Company's CEO.

''She has been instrumental to our strong emerging markets expansion,'' he said.

''I am honored to have been selected by the Board of Directors to lead DuPont into its next phase of accelerated growth. With a renowned scientific capability, a rich pipeline of new products, right productivity mindset and terrific market opportunities, we will build on our momentum and drive earnings growth by continuing on our mission to solve challenging global problems and achieve our financial commitments, including our 2010 growth goals,'' Ms Kullman said.
