Why is Afzal Guru alive: Uma Bharti to PM

Bhopal, Sep 22: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) Founder Uma Bharti on Monday, Sep 22 sought to know from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as to why Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru had not been executed yet.

''Afzal should be hanged soon and his execution should be videographed and telecast worldwide like the hanging of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein,'' she demanded. She was while addressing a gathering at the historic Lal Parade Ground to mark the conclusion of a 'Suraaj Sankalp' (Resolve for Good Governance) Rally.

The rally, being viewed as the BJS show of strength in the run-up to vidhan sabha polls scheduled this year, was attended by workers of every block in the state's 230 assembly constituencies.
