Heavy rains likely in Orissa, north coastal Andhra Pradesh

Pune, Sep 22 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Orissa and north coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, east Uttar Pradesh, few places in Arunchal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Jharakhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal Karnataka, Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands and at iosolated places in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

The Southwest Monsoon was vigorous in east Uttar Pradesh and active in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. It was subdued in Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chattisgarh and coastal and south interior Karnataka.

Heavy rains have occurred at most places in east Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in Orissa.
