Eight injured as under-construction shopping mall roof callapses

Vadodara, Sep 22 (UNI) At least eight contract labourers were injured when a portion of an under-construction shopping mall roof collapsed near the Reliance Cricket Stadium here today.

Police sources said about 25 labourers were working at the construction site when the slab suddenly caved in.

Eight of the labourers, trapped under the debris, were rescued and rushed to the SSG hospital here, where the condition of three is stated to be critical.

Jawaharnagar Police have registered a case against the contractor of the proposed Kankavati shopping mall, who was reportedly absconding, the sources added.
