CM announces Rs 11 lakh for Inspector Sharma's family
New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today announced an ex gratia payment of Rs eleven lakh to the next kin of Mohan Chand Sharma, the Delhi Police Inspector who was killed during an encounter with terrorists on Friday.
Making the announcement after the Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister said the Inspector, a highly decorated officer, was a brave man who sacrificed his life battling terrorists.
He had been bestowed with seven gallantry medals to his credit, including a President's Medal during his illustrious career.
