Police thwarted militant plan to cause blasts, 4 HM ultras arrested
Srinagar, Sep 21 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have thwarted a militant plan to cause blasts in the city after they arrested four Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants and recovered two bombs.
A police spokesman said this afternoon that acting on a tip-off a police party arrested three militants of HM, including a commander for Srinagar city, who were planning to cause blasts.
The arrested militants were identified as self-styled commander Arif Shafi Gilkar alias Fahad alias Javid, Bashir Ahmad Baba and Yasir Khan.
Yasir had recently returned from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after a gap of eight years on August 11.
He said a bomb made of Nitro-Benzene, Ammonium-Nitrate and iron Nails contained in a Pepsi Tin was recovered from the militants.
The spokesman said another militants Ishfaq Ahmad Wani of the HM group was arrested alongwith a Bomb made of Nitro-Benzene, Ammonium Nitrate, Iron Nails in a Pepsi Tin and some other explosive.
He claims that the militants were in touch with their mentors across the border.
