K'taka failed to contain communal violence: Minister
Gulbarga, Sep 21 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Labour Oscar Fernandes today alleged that the ruling BJP Government in Karnataka not only failed to contain attack on places of worship, but also encouraged communal forces.
Talking to newspersons here, he said while rioters claimed that they vandalised the places of worship, the State Government was making contradictory statements. The Hindutva forces were vandalising the minority prayer halls but the government was trying to conceal the truth, he alleged.
Referring to the Centre's Advisory to the State Government, the minister said it was needed, since the State Government failed to contain communal violence. The Centre has not issued Advisory to the Congress ruling states, because such a situation did not arise, he added.
Mr Fernandes said the High Command would appoint the President for the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee(KPCC) soon.
