Rs one lakh aid to kin of flood victims: Bhujbal

Nashik, Sep 20 (UNI) Maharashtra PWD Minister and Guardian Minister of Nashik district Chhagan Bhujbal today declared Rs one lakh aid to the kin of those who died in the flood in Nashik.

''Rs One lakh aid will be given to the kin of those who lost their lives due to the flood. As per information, seven people have lost their lives till now. People whose houses are flooded with water and have lost their goods, Rs 1,000 will be given to each person and Rs 5,000 to a family as an immediate relief,'' Mr Bhujbal said, while interacting with journalists after visiting flood affected areas in the city.

''20 kg foodgrains and 10 litre kerosene will also be provided to these families,'' he added.

''Though the exact number of people affected by the floods is not known yet, there may be more than 500 families. To provide help to these people, the plan for SC/ST help discussed in the recent Cabinet meet at Aurangabad will also be taken in consideration,'' he opined.

Meanwhile, rains in the city and district have stopped more or less. In some parts, the sun was also visible giving respite to people. Life is limping back to normalcy and relief work is in progress.
