Kidnapping cases transferred to Crime Branch-CID
Chennai, Sep 20 (UNI) The two kidnapping cases, involving former Tamil Nadu minister N K K P Raja, at Perunthurai in Erode district has been transferred to the Crime Branch-CID.
Tamil Nadu DGP K P Jain, in a release here today, said the cases, registered in Perunthurai police station, were transferred to the CB-CID for further investigations.
The transfer of the cases, comes two days after the Madras High Court passed orders to this effect.
It may be recalled that cases were registered under Sections 147, 148, 447 427 and 363 of the IPC following complaints that a group of people, at the instigation of Raja, damaged garden of Mr Sundararajan and abducted his brother Palanisamy, his wife and son.
Another complaint of abduction, allegedly by supporters of Raja, was filed two days later and a case was registered under similar sections.
Both these cases were transferred to the CB-CID, the DGP said.
