Jamia Nagar shootout militants sent in 14-day police remand

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) A city court today remanded in 14-day police custody the two militants, Mohammad Saif and Zeeshan Ahemad, who were arrested by the Delhi police Special Cell after yesterday's encounter at Batla House in South Delhi.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kanwaljeet Arora allowed the remand of the militants.

Delhi Police, while seeking the remand, also submitted the names of 10 more people, involved in the blast that rocked the Capital on September 13.

Yesterday, Delhi police shot dead two Indian Mujahideen militants, including a key conspirator in the September 13 Delhi blasts, in the Jamia Nagar area of South Delhi, even as one of its most decorated officers Mohan Chand Sharma laid down his life in the operation.
