BJP demands probe into black money investment racket

Jamshedpur, Sep 20 (UNI) Alleging the involvement of ''influential persons'' of Jharkhand and Central government in large scale black money investment racket in different parts of the country and abroad, the BJP today demanded a probe into the case.

A Dubai-based businessman Sanjay Choudhary, who is believed to be a close associate of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu koda and several other political figures, was arrested from Mumbai International airport on Wednesday for carrying foreign currency beyond permitted limit, and was later released.

Addressing a press conference here, senior party leader and MLA Saryu Rai said Sanjay Choudhary, who originally hails from Jamshedpur, was only a small player in the whole game. The matter should be investigated thoroughly by Central Board of Excise and Customs and Directorate of Economic Offence Wing.

''Huge ammount of public money from Jharkhand exchequer had been invested illegally in different parts of the country and abroad by bigger players through such small players. The real players are still behind the scene. They should be brought to book and Choudhary should now be given adequate security so that any attempt to eliminate him is foiled.'' he said.

Mr Rai said the release of Choudhary on private surety without lodging a criminal complaint within hours of his arrest, raised doubts and upon investigation it was found that there were much powerful people behind the scene.

Former Chief Minister Madhu Koda has denied any links with Choudhary.
