Agitating doctors asked to resume duty in RIMS in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 20 (UNI) The interns and house officers of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences(RIMS) here had launched a ceasework despite assurances and clarifications made by the RIMS authority, the institute's spokesperson Iboyaima said.

The agitators insisted on a time-table for the construction of hostels, along with an increment in their salaries.

''In order to accommodate the medical students the house officers and interns were asked to vacate the hostels. However later they were informed that they could stay in their respective hostels till alternative arrangements are made,'' he added.

In the larger interest of the patients it would be better if the house officers and interns joined their duties, the spokesperson felt.
