UPA failed to curb terrorism: Kalyan Singh

Gorakhpur, Sep 19 (UNI) Unleashing vitriol on at the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, the BJP vice-president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh charged the government with failing to control terrorist activities in the country.

Talking to mediapersons here today, Mr Singh said the UPA government had done nothing to curb terrorism, which has posed threat to internal security of the country.

He said the terrorist had made UP their hub and ISI and SIMI had stretched their network in nearly 34 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Focussing over the need of POTA like law to curtail the terrorist activities in the nation, he said if NDA resumed power at the Centre, it would certainly bring in a tough law within 100 days.

He said the BJP would not compromise over terrorism and national security and for this, NDA was the only choice before the people.

Charging the Congress with dealing with menance softly, he said the Narendra Modi government in Gujarat had sent a proposal of anti-terrorist law to the Centre, but they rejected it.

UPA's such attitude was behind the delay in Parliament attack case convict Afzal Guru's execution, he said adding the terrorist would be hanged with immediate effect after NDA comes back in power at Centre.

He further both Hindus and Muslims should unitedly fight against terrorims.

Replying to a question over the attack made on BJP MP Yogi Adityanath in Azamgarh, he said Mayawati-led BSP government was the silent player behind the attack which she had proved by not taking any action into the incident.

He further said the attack was highly condemnable as it was not made on the senior BJP leader but was an attack on ''Hinduism.'' Making a scathing attack on the opposition leaders, who visited Ahmedabad blast prime suspect Abdul Basher's family, Mr Singh said it was sad that political leaders were backing Basher by extending sympathies to his family.

On being asked about Ram temple at Ayodhya, he said the temple was associated with the sentiments of crores of Hindus and should be constructed and people should stop politicising the issue.
