Terrorist killed in Delhi encounter

New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) Barely a week after the serial blasts in the national capital which claimed over 20 lives, a terrorist was gunned down and three others were injured in an encounter with the police in Jamia Nagar area of South Delhi today.

Police sources said the encounter, which began at 1100 hrs, lasted for about 40 minutes, leaving one militant dead.

In the exchange of fire, which took place near a mosque, an inspector was also wounded.

Details are awaited, police said.
