Seven held guilty in Ruma Jhawar abduction case
Barasat, Sep 19 (UNI) A session court here today held the prime accused and his six accomplishes guilty in Ruma Jhawar abduction case.
Additional district and Session judge Samaresh Prasad Chaudhry found seven accused guilty under sections 364A,120B and 342 of the IPC.
Two accused were acquitted in the case while one of them is absconding.
The verdict on the quantum of punishment will be pronounced tomorrow.
According to charges, the convicts abducted Roma Jhawar, daughter of a local businessman on February 4, 2005 for a ransom of Rs 20 lakh when she was going to her college. She was recovered later by police.
