Monsoon Session of Jharkhand Assembly begins

Ranchi, Sep 19 (UNI) The eight-day long Monsoon Session of Jharkhand Assembly began here today.

Speaker Alamgir Alam, in his inaugural address, hoped that members of both Treasury and Opposition Benches would cooperate in smooth functioning of the House.

Mr Alam also announced the names of members of Business Advisory Committee for the Monsoon Session.

The Speaker, along with members, paid condolence to JD-U Legislator Ramesh Singh Munda, Congress leader Satyadeo Narain Tewary, CPI general secretary Harkishen Singh Surjeet and several others who died in the past few months.

Earlier, Mr Alam also congratuled Abhinav Bindra and Sushil Kumar for their excellent performance in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
