Mob ransacked govt hospital ransacked in Tirupati

Tirupati, Sep 19: Tension prevailed at Government Ruia hospital here on Thursday, Sep 18 when an angry mob ransacked the hospital following the death of a patient due to the alleged callousness of doctors.

The mob manhandled doctors including Causality Medical Officer(CMO) following the death of one Bhaskar who was admitted to the hospital with severe injuries. The doctors too allegedly attacked the relatives of the deceased while the angry crowd damaged all the furniture and window panes of the hospital demanding immediate legal action against the erring doctors.

The situation at the hospital was still tense and police force was rushed to control the situation.

Meanwhile, the junior doctors have boycotted medical services over the attack and denied allegations that negligence on their part had resulted in the death of the patient.

Bhaskar was seriously injured in a road accident when a two-wheeler, in which he was travelling, was hit by a lorry at Srikalahasti.
