'80 bombers planned to attack Mangalore'

Mangalore, Sep 19: Rumours of eighty bombers squad of Hindu organisations on Friday, Sep 19 believed to visit Karnataka's coastal city of Mangalore was condemned by AICC General Secretary and former Union Minister Margaret Alva on Friday, Sep 19. After visiting several churches attacked since Sunday, Sep 14, she said that during interactions with the priests she was informed that three Christian institutions-- Fr. Muller Charitable Trust at Kankanady, St. Aloysius Church at Bavategudde and Jeppu Retreat Centre at Jeppu have today received threatening calls of conducting more attacks.

She suspected that there was also possibility of drawing more such squads from Gujarat and Goa for conducting more attacks. In view of this, she demanded more protection to all Christian institutions and the police should thwart all such possible attacks.

She demanded that the prohibitory orders to be expired Friday, Sep 19 should be extended further for few more days till the total peace was restored in the district in general and Mangalore city in particular.
