Panun to organise World Kashmiri Pandit Conference in Jammu
Jammu, Sep 18 (UNI) In a bid to emphasise their demand of homeland, the Kashmiri Pandit (KPs) community today announced to organise the third World Kashmiri Pandit Conference here on January 9, 2009 under the banner of Panun Kashmir.
''Over 55 lakh Saraswat Brahmins who trace their ancestry to Kashmir will participate in the World Conference,''Dr Agnishekhar, Convenor Panun Kashmir said while addressing a press conference this afternoon.
''Homeland
for
Kashmiri
Pandits,
Islamic
terrorism,
aspirations
of
the
people
of
Jammu
and
Ladakh
and
issues
like
discrimination
will
remain
the
highlights
of
the
Conference,'' Dr
Agnishekhar
said
adding,
''Panun
Kashmir
will
provide
a
platform
for
the
people
of
Jammu
and
Ladakh
to
articulate
their
views
before
a
national
audience.''
However,
Dr
Agnishekhar
added
that
Panun
Kashmir
will
also
undertake
a
'Panun
Kashmir
Panun
Bharat'
yatra
soon
as
a
run
up
to
the
Third
World
Conference
and
asserted,
''we
also
hail
BJP
national
president
Rajnath
Singh
for
endorsing
the
demand
of
separate
homeland
for
Kashmiri
Pandits.'
