Bhopal, Sep 18(UNI) Senior Congress tribal leader Jamuna Devi, who suffered leg fracture in a road accident involving her car near Indore yesterday, had earlier apprehended threat to her life and had sought adequate security from the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh.

Mrs Jamuna Devi, who is leader of the opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, was injured when her official vehicle collided headon with another vehicle near Ashta in Sehore district while on her way to Indore from Bhopal.

Her gunman Rajbahadur Singh, driver Hem Singh and her personal assistant Usha were also injured.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has deputed PWD Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya to ensure proper arrangements for her treatment at a private hospital at Indore. ''Entire expenses for her treatment will be borne by the state government'', an official release said.

Meanwhile, releasing copies of her letter sent to the Chief Minister in June this year, Ms Devi said during her journeys from the state capital to her home town Dhar, several attempts were made by matador or trucks to collide with her car at Indore and nearby areas. Later such vehicles sped away when her driver or gunman tried to note down the vehicle number.

''Such repeated incidents posed a threat to my life'', the Congress leader said, urging the Chief Minister to direct the authorities concerned to strengthen security provided to her.
