K C Panicker selected for first 'Palakaya' award

Thrissur, Sep 18 (UNI) Noted Veterinary Surgeon and Specialist in elephant treatment, Dr K C Panicker, has been selected for the first ''Palakapya' award instituted by the elephant owners federation.

The award is for the best service in treating elephants and conducting tranquilizer shots for the last 40-years.

Announcing the award, Federation Patron T A Sunder Menon and General Secretary P Sasi said at a news conference here that the award will be given on September 21 at a function to be held here in connection with the state conference of the federation.
