HC orders CB-CID probe into case on Ex-Minister
Chennai, Sep 18 (UNI) Madras High Court today ordered CB-CID a inquiry to the 'land grabbing and kidnapping case' against Former Tamil Nadu Textiles and Handlooms Minister NKKP Raja and his associates.
While passing an elaborate order on dismissing the Anticipatory Bail (AB) petition filed by Mr Sundar Rajan and 39 others, Justice R Regupathi expressed dissatisfaction over the way Perundurai Police of Erode District handled the case.
The Judge directed the CB-CID to investigate thoroughly the land grabbing case as well as the inaction of the local police in this regard.
Mr N Elangovan of Perunthurai filed a Habeas Corpus Petition (HCP) seeking to produce his father-in-law P C Palanisamy, mother-in- law Malarvizhi and brother-in-law Sivabalan ;who were in the custody of Mr Raja and his associates.
Mr Raja, in connivance with others grabbed their property extending up to ten acre and valued at more than Rs 20 crore, he claimed.
