CII to set up task force to study land acquisition bill-Kamath
Bhubaneswar,Sep 18 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry -(CII) has constituted a Task Force to be headed by its Vice President Venu Srinivasan, to study the land acquisition bill likely to be tabled in Parliament,CII President K V Kamath said today.
Talking to newsmen after the national council meeting of the Confederation held for the first time in the state, Mr Kamath said the Task Force would examine as to whether the new bill would help the industry or not.
He said the Task Force would come out with suggestion on the proposed bill after taking into confidence the industry and the various stake holders.
On being asked about the problem of land acquisition reported from across the country, Mr Kamath said the CII was of the opinion that there has to be a dialogue before the land was acquired for the industry so that the whole issue would be transparent and equitable.
Such concept should be brought to the national attention so that the land acquisition problem would not be a major issue for the industries, the CII President said.
