16 people run over by speeding bus in Bihar

Sitamarhi, Sep 18 (UNI) With four more people succumbing to their injuries in the hospital this morning, the toll in last night's bus accident at Tandaspur-Rupauli village under Bathnaha block has gone up to 16.

Superintendent of Police Ajitabh Kumar said here that 12 people were killed on the spot while four others, who were seriously injured in the accident, died at a local hospital.

Meanwhile, District Magistrate Vijay Kumar, along with senior police officers, was camping at the spot in view of the mounting tension.

A speeding bus had run over 16 people at the village when they were watching TV on the roadside late last night on the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja festival.
