Sweden team visits city

Mysore, Sep 17(UNI) Members of the eight-member team from Eskilstun town, Sweden interacted with the leaders of Mysore Industries Association about the prospects of the industries in the around the city.

The team is led by Mayor Hans Ekstrom accompanied by S R Vijya, adivsor India Relationships.

The members apprised of the industrial scenario of Mysore and the district including Hebban industrial area and industrial estates of Koorgahlli, Tandavapura, Belawadi, and Nanjangud.

Mr Shivashankar, Joint Director District Industries Centre explained that there are 21,688 registered industries in Mysore city and district providing 1,05,691 jobs.

Necessary infrastructure created by the department of Industries, include double rail track, upgradation of airport, expressway and highways connecting the district to the rest of the country, he added.

Senior officer of Eskilstuna adminsitration Eva Lilja presented details of industrial scenario of Eskilstuna explaining nuclear and hydel power as major sources of energy supplemented by biogas power, subject to energy aduiting and efficency review.

The Swedish team later visited many industries in the region.
