Second National Half Marathon

Mangalore, Sept 17 (UNI) Daxina Kannada and Udupi Districts Masters Athletic Association, Mangalore would host the Second National Half Marathon and Minithon on October One.

Addressing a press conference here, Association President K S Kodanda Rama Gowda said that the event would be held in 12 categories and Marathon race ranging from 2 km to 21 km for various age groups from 35+ to 80+ for men and 35+ to 60+ for women.

Over 700 athletes from all over the country including athletes of the age group above 90+ from Punjab are expected to participate in the event to be held for the first time in Mangalore.

The winner in the first three positions in each category would be presented with cash prize and medals while the winners up to sixth position would be presented with cash prizes and certificates, he said. The total prize money was Rs Eight lakh.
