Keira Knightley's towering wig had crewmembers building platform for support!
Washington, Sept 17 : Crewmembers behind the new period drama 'The Duchess' had to build English actress Keira Knightley a platform for her wig, as its huge size was causing her a lot of pain.
Knightley had to wear a rib-busting corset, and don a huge hairpiece for the role of 18th century aristocrat Georgiana Cavendish in the movie.
But her costume was so heavy that it started causing her health problems, and workers on the set had to find a way to ease her plight.
"High heels are bad enough. I don't think you need a corset and wigs, as well," Contactmusic quoted her as telling USA Today newspaper.
"The wigs were the problem. They were big like birdcages. The hats were sewn onto the tops of them. And the whole thing was glued to my head, pinned in.
"I had neck ache. I literally couldn't hold the thing up. So they built me a stand so I could rest the whole lot on," she added.
