Jage Ram Bhati joins Congress
New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Dissatisfied with the ''working style'' of Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati, former president of Delhi BSP unit Jage Ram Bhati today joined the Congress along with his supporters.
Mr Bhati, along with former BSP general secretary of north west district Ashwini Bagri and former BSP East district president Arif Mohammed, joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and state Urban Development Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Bhati said they were quitting the BSP as they were dissatisfied with the working style of party president Mayawati.
He said under the leadership of Ms Mayawati, party activists were not given the importance they deserved.
''When I took up the issue with Ms Mayawati, I was removed from my post,'' Mr Bhati said.
He alleged that under her, the BSP's basic aim was to lend support to the BJP to help communal forces to come to power.
He claimed that four councillors of the BSP would soon join the Congress.
