Four injured in Srinagar blast
Srinagar, Sep 17 (UNI) At least four people, including a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), were injured in a grenade blast at busy Budshah Chowk near here this afternoon.
Official sources said militants hurled a hand grenade towards a CRPF picket, guarding the Akhara building, which houses the holy Mace of Lord Shiva.
It exploded on the roadside causing injuries to four people, including a CRPF jawan.
Militants later managed to escape, they said.
This was the first such attack in the city after Chief of the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) based United Jehad Council (UJC), Syed Salahuddin asked militants to participate in processions in the Kashmir valley unarmed.
He also asked them not to carry out any militant attack in public places.
