Depression moves from North Bay towards Orissa
Kolkata, Sep 17 (UNI) The deep depression formed over the North Bay of Bengal moved in North Westerly direction towards Orissa this morning.
Under its impact heavy rains were likely to continue at many places over Gangetic West Bengal, Met office sources said.
The mercury moved south following heavy downpour since last night, with the maximum recorded at 29.6 degrees Celcius, two degrees below normal.
The minimum was pegged at 25.2 degrees Celcius, one degree below normal.
The local Met office recorded 35.9 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours.
The Met officials also predicted generally cloudy sky with the possibility of spells of thundershower during next 24 hours with no significant changes in temperature.
