CLP refutes TDP's allegations against govt.

Hyderabad, Sep 17(UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today denied the allegations of opposition parties, mainly Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu that the ruling Congress government had failed to protect Parliamentary and democratic values in the house.

Addressing a press conference here, along with legislators and council members, State Finance Minister K Rosaiah alleged that the TDP was responsible for creating disturbances in the assembly though the government, with a view to protect the democratic values, was ready to hold discussions on various issues concerning the people.

Though Deputy Speaker G Kuthuhalamma had allotted two hours to discuss the no-confidence motion issued by the TDP and TRS against the Speaker, the discussions went on for seven hours as the Opposition took more time and the TDP, which took 45 minutes, misused the time by raising unconnected matters, he alleged.

He furthur alleged that though the TDP was well-versed with the assembly rules, it served the no-confidence motion notice a few days before the House adjourned against the stipulated time of issuing it 14 days before.

He also refuted the corruption charges against Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
