Builder held for killing wife, daughter due to financial mess

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Police today claimed to have solved the September 9 'murder' case involving a real estate agent's family and his subsequent suicide attempt in Maharani Bagh area of South Delhi.

Syed Abbas (39) was arrested after investigations revealed that he had killed his wife Neelam (34) and two-and-a-half-year old daughter before attempting suicide on the fateful day, police said.

Abbas had joined investigations yesterday after his release from hospital.

He said he was in a financial mess as he had failed to gather enough funds to purchase a land in Noida Phase II, for which he had collected advance from those willing to purchase flats there, and was under pressure to return it.
