Ashok Chawla join as secretary, DEA

New Delhi, Sept 17 (UNI) Ashok Chawla, a 1973-batch IAS officer, today joined as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.

Before this he has also held the post of Deputy Secretary, Director, Additional Secretary and Special Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs before joining as Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation from Febuary 1,2007, an official statement said here.

A post graduate in Economics, Mr Chawla has also worked as Joint Secretary and also Additional Secretary and FA in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers.

For a short duration, he also held the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
