Special 'go pooja' at temple for world peace

Kancheepuram, Sep 16 (UNI) A 'go pooja' (worshipping the cow) was held here today for world peace and good in the wake of the recent serial blasts in New Delhi which claimed several lives.

At the Kanchi Kamakshi Amman Temple here this morning, 151 cows bathed, applied with holy kumkum and decorated in garlands were lined up for the pooja along with calves.

Earlier,a special pooja was performed at the sanctum sanctorum.

The event was sponsored by a US-based devotee.
