One year RI and Rs 1000 fine for bribe of Rs 45
Patna, Sep 16 (UNI) The special vigilance court today awarded one year rigorous imprisonment in addition to a fine of Rs 1000 to a government servant for taking a bribe of Rs 45.
Designated judge S K Panwar awarded the punishment to former supervisor Mahendra Kumar Mastana of Bihar Khadi Gram Udyog at Pirpati in Gaya district.
The convict was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 45 from a customer for issuance of his loan cheque on September 22, 1978.
On the other hand, another vigilance judge of Patna B K Srivastav remanded Anil Kumar Paswan, a clerk in the office of district education officer at Sheikhpura, to judicial custody in a bribery case till September 29 next.
The accused was arrested by vigilance sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a person for his appointment as a panchayat teacher on September 15, 2008.
