Kalayat block teachers donate for Bihar flood victims

Kaithal, Sep 16 (UNI) The school teachers of Kalayat block in this district have collected Rs 45000 to be sent to flood victims of Bihar state .

Block Education Officer Vandana Gupta Kalayat today handed over a Demand draft in favour of Bihar chief minister's relief fund, to Deputy Commissioner Vikas Gupta by here today.

Kaithal was among the first districts in Punjab to send financial help of Rs one lakh to Bihar flood victims, Mr Gupta said adding that Bihar chief secretary had conveyed his gratitude for the residents of the district for this compassionate gesture.

Meanwhile, ADC Ramesh Verma, incharge district Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan has appealed to teachers to contribute liberally for the rehabilitation of Bihar flood victims .
