BKU hands over memorandum demanding waiver of dues

Gonda, Sep 16 (UNI) Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) workers here today staged demonstration at the collectorate premises and handed over a memorandum to the district administartion for waiving off their power dues.

Breaking section 144, which was applicable in the district till October 31, the BKU leaders barged into the DM office area.

Police denied them to stage dharna over which they adamantly offered court arrest.

However, the mob passified after the administration accepted the memorandum demanding waiving off power and other dues and also early payment of sugarcane dues.

Under section 144, group of more than five people are disallowed, besides carrying canes or weapons and staging demonstration totally prohibited.
