BJP prepares draft manifesto for MP Assy polls

Bhopal, Sep 16 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party's Madhya Pradesh unit has prepared the draft manifesto for Assembly polls scheduled this winter.

''It will be announced by the BJP state unit President Narendra Singh Tomar at the appropriate time,'' State Election Manifesto Committee Convenor Thawarchand Gehlot told reporters here today.

Mr Gehlot said that about 7,250 suggestions, received from people belonging to every strata, were incorporated in the draft.

''We have perused pros and cons of the document and had considerable deliberation to prepare the manifesto. Several fresh suggestions were incorporated. Old points mentioned in the 2003 manifesto were also retained,'' the BJP General Secretary reiterated.

Claiming that the sole aim of collecting suggestions from the common man was for the state's all-round development, he added that 90 per cent of promises that were part of the previous manifesto were fulfilled and the remainder could not be fulfilled as these were pending with the Centre.
