Usha Martin Academy signs a MoU with University of Sunderland

Kolkata, 15 Sep (UNI) The Usha Martin Academy, promoted by the Usha Martin Group, a Rs 3000 crore conglomerate, and supported by UshaComm as knowledge partner has recently signed an MoU with the University of Sunderland, UK.

Students studying PGDBM at UMA can pursue the last two semesters in UK and will receive scholarship of around 1500 Pounds per annum during their study in UK.

They will be able to transfer credit hours for each courses taken in the first year at UMA.

After successful completion of the course, students will have the option to apply for work permit in UK for 3 years.

Students will get a degree from the University of Sunderland, UK The UMA offers high end specialised industry oriented IT courses on Data Warehousing, Data Mining, Embedded Technology, Search Engine Optimization, Infrastructure Management Support, Business Intelligence Software Project Engineering and Management.

UMA Director Dr Saugata Banerjee said there was a huge gap between classroom teaching and real-time industry requirements. The programmes have been specially designed keeping in mind employability factor of candidates.

The faculty has been constituted with members from premiere institutes and other experts in the software industry.

Aveek Bhattacharya, Manager-Administration and Commercial, said the academy presently has two campuses in Kolkata, one in Ranchi and in future, plans to set up campuses in Jamshedpur, Durgapur, Guwahati and Siliguri.
