STF guns down wanted criminal in UP

Lucknow, Sep 15 (UNI) The special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh today gunned down a notorious criminals having Rs 20,000 reward on his head in an encounter in Siddharthnagar district.

On a tip-off, police laid a cordon off at Shohratgarh town, where they intercepted an unnumbered Bolero car however, in a bid to escape, the criminals fired at the police.

In a retaliation, police also resorted to firing and gunned down an infamous Ramdhani Sharma, official sources said.

Ramdhani, a wanted criminal, had 23 heinous criminal cases, including murder, kidnapping and loot, pending against him.

A mobile, pistol and live cartridges were seized from him.

Police had launched a manhunt to nab his accomplices.
