Mah govt to seek legal advice for appeal in Khairlanji case

Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said the government would seek legal advice for further appeal in the Khairlanji murder case, after completion of the verdict.

The culprits should be punished and such incidents should not happen in the state, Mr Patil said in a release issued here.

The government would also talk with CBI in this matter, he informed. Several RPI leaders including Prakash Ambedkar and Jogendra Kawade have condemned today's judgement.

A trial court in Bhandara, earlier today convicted eight of the eleven accused and acquitted the remaining three in the case pertaining to the gruesome killing, almost two years ago, of four members of a Dalit family in Khairlanji village in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
