Consumer forum tells firm to change battery,pay compensation

Phagwara Sep 15 (UNI) A consumer forum here directed a shopkeeper here to replace a defective branded battery within a month and pay the complainant villager Rs 4000 as compensation.

Complainant Hardeep Singh of village Nurpur had moved the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum alleging that he had purchased two inverter batteries from Ravindra Auto Engineering Works on May 1, last year, but one of the battery was found to be defective.

However, the firm owners did not even entertain his repeated complaint, forcing him to approach the forum.
