CJM asks police to investigate bashing of lawyer in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 15 (UNI) Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Srinagar, today directed the police to investigate the reports about alleged beating up of a lawyer by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Amirakadal on Saturday.

The CJM gave the direction on a case filed by advocate Sheikh Sajad Gulzar who alleged that CRPF forces at Lal Chowk beat him without any reason.

The court directed the SHO of police station Maisuma to investigate and file the report within ten days.

The case has been listed for September 25.

The court also issued notices to government of Jammu and Kashmir through SHO Maisuma and Union of India through CRPF commandant Lal Chowk.
